- Born in Kumamoto October 1987 - Established a Wadaiko team, "Rindo Drums Prevention Association" with his old school friends from Kumamoto Second High School's Rindo-Kai, and started creating and performing activities. Rindo drums are based on the music played at Fujisaki-Gu Festival, which is held every year at Kumamoto. Since then, he has become a member of Kumamoto Castle Construction Drum Association and studied under Takashi Fukuda, a percussionist and a conductor of the Kumamoto Philharmonic Orchestra, and Satoshi Imafuku, a former member of Ondekoza. He studied Wadaiko energetically by interacting with other drum teams nationwide, including visiting the professional drum band, "Kodo". March 1995 - Came to Australia as a volunteer for introducing Japanese culture to overseas. He introduced a variety of Japanese culture for 9 months, including an introduction of Wadaiko to the students at Geelong Oberong Secondary College. After he went back to Japan in 1996, he flew back to Australia again on request and started teaching and performing Wadaiko professionally. May 1997 - Established Australia's first Wadaiko Class in Melbourne and made efforts to promote Wadaiko in overseas. July 1999 - Obtained an Australian Permanent Residence as a professional Wadaiko performer. |
